Workspace
Settings → Administration → Workspace (administrators only)
Here you maintain the name and the registered company name of your workspace and add your company domains. The sign-in settings on the same page are described under Security & MFA.
Company domain
Section titled “Company domain”Without a company domain, everyone who registers with 9brains on their own gets a workspace of their own to try out, even if their company already has one. A verified company domain stops that: anyone who registers with an address on that domain, for example max@company.com, sends a join request to the admins of your workspace instead.
Add and verify a domain
Section titled “Add and verify a domain”- In the Company domains section, enter the domain, for example
company.com, and click Add. - 9brains shows you a TXT record with a value of the form
9brains-verification=…. Create it at the provider that manages your domain, directly on the domain itself (the name is usually@). Copy takes over the value without typos. - Click Check. If 9brains finds the record, the domain shows Verified.
The check runs only this once; after that the domain stays verified.
If 9brains does not find the record, the domain stays Not verified and you see why. New DNS records often take a few minutes, sometimes a few hours, to become visible everywhere. Check the value and click Check again later.
No access to the DNS records?
Section titled “No access to the DNS records?”If you cannot set a DNS record, write to us at support@9brains.de. As soon as it is clear that the domain belongs to your company, we add it for you.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Domains of public email providers such as gmail.com or outlook.com cannot be added.
- A domain can be verified for one workspace only. If it is already verified for another one, 9brains tells you when you add it. If the domain belongs to your company, contact support.
- Enter domains with umlauts or accents such as
müller.dethe way you write them. Next to them, 9brains shows the spelling the domain has in DNS (xn--mller-kva.de); that is also where the TXT record goes. - Exactly the domain you add counts:
company.comdoes not coversales.company.com. Add further domains one by one. - You can remove a domain at any time. Anyone who registers with an address on it afterwards gets a workspace of their own to try out again.
