Partner Portal
9brains partners only. The section appears in partner workspaces and only for their administrators.
Settings → Partner portal
Here you manage all of your customers’ workspaces: create new ones, let customers register themselves, and grant access.
Signup link
Section titled “Signup link”The signup link is the fast route to many customers at once. You create a link, share it in a newsletter for example, and whoever registers through it creates their own workspace. That workspace is automatically assigned to you as their partner and appears in your customer list.
Creating a link
Section titled “Creating a link”- In the “Signup link” card, click “Create link” (or “Edit” if one already exists)
- Choose a slug, for example your company name. Allowed are 4 to 64 characters, lowercase letters, digits and hyphens only. You see while typing whether your preferred slug is still free
- Optional: a name such as “June newsletter”. It is only visible to you and helps to tell several campaigns apart
- Click “Create link”
You can create as many links as you like. The “Signup link” card shows only the name and the number of signups per link, so you can see which campaign paid off. Everything else lives in the side panel: click a link, the number next to it, or “Edit”.
Sharing the link
Section titled “Sharing the link”The side panel holds the ready-made link to copy and the matching QR code to download, for flyers or trade fair displays. Whoever opens the link sees your company name on the signup page, along with your logo if your workspace has one.
Seeing who signed up
Section titled “Seeing who signed up”Underneath each link the side panel lists the workspaces created through it, each with the date it registered. The three newest are shown; “Show all” expands the rest. That way you can still tell later which campaign a customer came from.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- The customer registers themselves, confirms their email address and creates their workspace
- The trial starts immediately with the registration
- The new workspace appears in your customer list without any further action
- You receive an email as soon as somebody registers through your link
You do not get automatic access to that workspace. The customer works in it on their own at first. You grant yourself access when you need it, see below.
Deleting a link
Section titled “Deleting a link”A deleted link stops working. Customers who already came through it stay assigned to you; what is lost is that link’s reporting, meaning its signup count and the list of workspaces behind it.
Creating a customer workspace yourself
Section titled “Creating a customer workspace yourself”If you want to prepare a workspace for a customer instead of letting them register themselves:
- Click “Create workspace” next to the search field
- Enter the customer’s name and registered company name and confirm commercial use
- Click “Create workspace”
You are added to the new workspace as an administrator automatically and can start working in it right away. Unlike a signup through the link, the trial does not run yet: it starts when you invite the first person from the customer’s company. That way no trial days are lost while you set the workspace up.
Managing users
Section titled “Managing users”Click “Users” in the customer list. The side panel shows everybody in that workspace and lets you:
- Invite users with the button at the top. That includes yourself: this is how you get access to a workspace created through your signup link
- Change roles between user and administrator
- Resend invitations when somebody cannot find the email
- Remove access
If you invite yourself, you become a guest in that workspace. Your license stays with your partner workspace, so no seat is used up at the customer.
Switching between workspaces
Section titled “Switching between workspaces”Once you are a member of a customer workspace, you can switch to it from the workspace menu at the top left and work there as usual, for example to help the customer with the setup.
Your customers’ trials
Section titled “Your customers’ trials”When a customer’s trial ends is shown in the customer list next to the workspace, along with the days remaining. That is your overview when you want to extend a trial or move it to a subscription.
You do not receive trial reminder emails for customer workspaces. They only go to people whose own workspace is the one concerned, because they talk about your account and about it being suspended once the trial ends. As a guest in your customer’s workspace that does not apply to you. If nobody but you is an administrator in a customer workspace, 9brains sends no reminder for it at all.
