9brains can remember you across conversations, including your role, areas of expertise, and preferences. Memory consists of personal notes and an automatically generated profile.

You can find all the details on the Memory — Personal Memory page.

If you have been using ChatGPT, you can transfer your chat history, memories and file attachments into your 9brains account.

How it works:

  1. Request your data export in the ChatGPT settings (Menu → Settings → Data export)
  2. You will receive a ZIP file by email
  3. Upload it under Settings → Personal Settings → Data import → Import from ChatGPT

The import runs in the background. Afterwards, you will find all imported chats in your sidebar, identifiable by the subtle ChatGPT label. File attachments, images, and canvas documents are automatically placed in your workspace.

After the import, you can optionally review your ChatGPT memories and selectively transfer them into your 9brains memory. Each import can be fully reverted in the import history.

Technical notes: Upload limit 100 MB, one import at a time per user, duplicates are detected and skipped automatically.
