Editor (Canvas): work on documents together
From now on you can author Markdown documents directly inside 9brains, without switching to an external editor. The editor (“Canvas”) opens on the right next to the chat. You and the AI work on the same document at the same time, and you see changes live.
How to open the editor
Section titled “How to open the editor”As soon as your session contains a file, a Files button with a count appears in the chat header. A click on it shows all workspace files. Markdown files open in the editor with a single click. When the AI creates a Markdown file for you, it also appends an “Open in editor” link to its reply.
Edit live with the AI
Section titled “Edit live with the AI”Just say in chat “shorten the intro” or “add a summary at the top”. While the AI works, the editor updates live. If you type yourself, 9brains saves automatically when you leave the editor. If you and the AI change the same area at the same time, the system detects the conflict and reloads the current version.
Versions and restore
Section titled “Versions and restore”Every change is saved as a version. The three-dot menu opens Versions with a diff viewer: tick two rows and the editor shows you what changed between the two states. You restore an older version as the new current version with one click. The previously current version stays in the history.
Export
Section titled “Export”From the same menu, export the document as PDF (for sending or printing) or as Word (DOCX) for follow-up editing in Office apps.
Panel width
Section titled “Panel width”The divider between chat and editor can be dragged with the mouse, depending on whether you want more room for the document or the chat.
