Apps: you describe it, 9brains builds it

The video is in German, with German subtitles.

The tool your team really needs often cannot be bought anywhere: the overview for which someone gathers figures from three systems every Monday, the list that circulates by email, the plan on the wall. With apps you describe in the chat what you need, and 9brains builds it for you.

You open Apps in the sidebar and describe what the app should do, the way you would explain it to a colleague. The assistant builds the app, opens it in the browser itself, checks the result and improves it. Next to the chat you watch the preview grow. Once everything works, it publishes the app, and it appears in your Apps area.

In the video, this is how a service control center comes about: a map with all machines from the ERP, open service cases marked in red, a click on a case shows the fix from the maintenance manual and the stock of the spare part, plus a weekly plan into which the team drags cases.

An app reads current figures directly from your integrations, for example from a database, Microsoft 365, Jira, HubSpot or Lexware Office, and from your company knowledge. The data is not copied, the app always shows the current state.

What your team maintains itself, such as assignments, statuses or notes, the app keeps in a small data store of its own that everyone it is shared with can see. You make entries in the app or simply in the chat: “Enter in the service control center that Tobias takes over the Chiemgauer Käserei on Thursday.”

At first only you see a new app. On its page you share it with individual colleagues, groups or all members, to use, edit or administer.

When requirements change, you click “Keep building” and say in the chat what should be different. Every change is kept as a version, and you can go back to an earlier one at any time.

Apps run in 9brains and are not public. Everyone who uses an app releases their connections once themselves and so only sees what they have access to anyway. An app never gets to see passwords or keys and only talks to its own entries and the integrations released for it. Everything is hosted in Germany.

Apps are included in the Business and Max licenses. Everyone with the group permission “Create apps” can build them, and by default all members have it. Examples to get started, from a sales cockpit to an absence overview, are on the Apps page.
