Claude import: bring conversations and memories over

Data import in 9brains now supports Claude in addition to ChatGPT. If you previously worked with Claude, you can upload your data export and keep using your most important histories directly in 9brains.

What changed

On the import page, you still upload a ZIP file. 9brains automatically detects whether the export comes from ChatGPT or Claude. Supported exports are processed in the background while you keep working.

Imported Claude conversations then appear in your chat list with a subtle Claude label. This lets you immediately recognize which chats came from your previous Claude account. You can open the conversations, read them and continue them in 9brains as usual.

Claude content stays understandable

Claude conversations often contain artifacts, for example text, code, Markdown, HTML or other structured content. These items are shown in the imported chat as formatted blocks. That keeps the history understandable even when a conversation was not made up of plain text messages only.

Attachments with extracted text are also included in the history. If Claude only provides a file reference in the export but no recoverable original file, 9brains shows that note in the chat. This keeps it visible that a file was part of the original conversation at that point.

Review memory candidates

Claude memories can now also appear as memory candidates. After the import, you decide which entries you want to bring into your 9brains memory. Nothing is saved automatically.

Undo an import

As with ChatGPT, you can fully undo a Claude import from the import history. This removes only the chats and files created by that import. Your existing 9brains chats remain unchanged.
