New integration: Matomo web analytics

You can now connect your Matomo web analytics instance as an integration, whether self-hosted or Matomo Cloud. The AI assistant then accesses your analytics data directly and answers questions in natural language.

What is possible?

Ask questions about your website statistics, for example:

“How many visitors did we have last month?”
“Which pages have the highest bounce rate?”
“Show me last week’s traffic sources as a chart”
“How are our newsletter conversions trending over time?”
“Which products were added to the cart most often?”

The assistant automatically detects the available websites in your Matomo account and evaluates the matching reports. Results are presented as tables, charts or summaries.

Comprehensive analysis options

The integration covers the most important Matomo reports:

Traffic overview: visits, unique visitors, page views, bounce rate and time on site
Page analysis: top pages, entry and exit pages
Traffic sources: search engines, social networks, referrers, campaigns
Geography: distribution by country, region and city
Devices and browsers: desktop, mobile, tablet plus manufacturers and operating systems
Goals and conversions: conversion rates, revenue and conversion paths
Custom events: evaluation by category, action and name
E-commerce: orders, revenue, top products, abandoned carts
Real-time: currently active visitors and live sessions

In addition, segments can be applied to filter every evaluation precisely, for example only mobile traffic from Germany or only visitors who reached a specific conversion goal.

How to set it up

Open Settings → Integrations
Pick Matomo from the available templates
Enter the URL of your Matomo instance (e.g. https://analytics.example.com)
In Matomo, create a new token under Profile → Security → Auth tokens and paste it in
Optional: set a default site ID if you always want to evaluate the same website

The integration requires Matomo in version 4.4 or newer.
