New image models and a separate default editing model
Image generation and image editing in 9brains have been expanded substantially: two new models, a more robust fallback system and more control over model choice.
New image models
Section titled “New image models”Gemini 3.1 Flash (Google) is the new default model for image generation. It delivers high-quality results at significantly faster speeds and is processed in the EU (Netherlands). The model also supports multi-image compositing.
FLUX.2 Flex (Black Forest Labs) is a new model with excellent quality, particularly suited for image editing and compositing. It supports up to 8 reference images.
Separate default model for image editing
Section titled “Separate default model for image editing”Administrators can now set a separate default model for image editing under Settings → AI models, independent of the default model for image generation. This way you can, for example, pick a model that performs particularly well on editing and combining images.
The setting can be overridden per workspace.
Improved fallback system
Section titled “Improved fallback system”If an image model is temporarily unavailable (e.g. due to rate limits), an alternative model takes over automatically. This should resolve the image generation errors that occurred in the meantime.
